For the past two years, Dr. Maximo and Dr. Harris have been offering BOTOX® Cosmetic, JUVÉDERM® XC and RADIESSE fillers in addition to their outstanding dental services. At Woodlawn Dental Center, we believe treatments like these, when performed properly, can accentuate and enhance your smile. If you’ve been on the fence about receiving any of these treatments or aren’t completely sure about what they entail, here’s some basic information to get you started!
BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only approved treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. It also works wonders on the pesky lines adults are all too familiar with: crow’s feet. This procedure is successful because it targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the muscles that contract from frowning and squinting over the years. During the procedure, your specialist will inject these muscles with Botox to temporarily reduce muscle activity. The results are noticeable right away and leave you with visibly smoother lines.
It’s no secret that over time your skin loses elasticity and moisture, which can lead to severe lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth, A.K.A parentheses. Parentheses have a place—but it’s not on your face. While there are serums and creams that help restore the moisture to your skin, JUVÉDERM® XC is one of the most effective ways to attack these lines. It can also be used to add some volume to your lips. JUVÉDERM® XC gets injected to the affected area and adds subtle volume that smooths over the folds in your skin, while giving you the all-natural results you want.
RADIESSE is a slightly stronger version of Juvederm. RADIESSE is usually used to add more volume to the cheek area, and can be thought of as a “liquid facelift.” This wrinkle filler is injected through a small needle that is placed under the skin. It works immediately and adds volume to the skin. Over time, the benefits of RADIESSE continue by stimulating your body’s own natural collagen. These results have been shown to last a year or more in many patients, making the treatment results not only immediate, but also long-lasting.
